Allison WEIGHTMAN
Allison Weightman has been hand-building and raku-firing ceramics since 1990. Her works have been exhibited in galleries throughout Europe. In 1998 she received the Mercer Co Award for work exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. She lives with her partner and four children in a self-built house in Scoraig, Ross-shire.
Allison has received many accolades for the originality of her ceramic work – her vessels have perfectly balanced and alluring contours. She is known for her habit of taking a 12-bore shotgun to her pieces to demonstrate the effects on the clay.
