Elizabeth Shepherd was born in Dunfermline, Fife in 1945.
She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a diploma in Drawing and Painting in 1969. She is now living in Crail, Fife.
Elizabeth is a member of the Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio, specialising in etching and is a professional member of Visual Arts Scotland, and the Scottish Society of Artists. In 1996 her first etching of Crail Harbour was selected for the International Print Exhibition at Portland Art Museum, Oregon, U.S.A .
“I experiment all the time with different colour schemes and tones using my etching plates, therefore all of my prints are unique (except the black and white ones). They are all limited editions, as you can only print so many from each plate.
I paint with my plates. I am not a technician, I am an artist in love with the marks and textures you can only get with the practice of printmaking, as are most printmakers.
