Mark Haillay

Images on this page are just a few examples of Mark's work - we also have pheasants, owls, swans, puffins, geese etc, just depending what is in stock. Please enquire for availability and prices.

Mark Haillay makes ceramic flying birds, in hommage to  the pottery flying mallards of the 1930s. We have a variety of his native bird species in the gallery, in sets of three, which will look fantastic in anyone's home, adding a touch of humour and nostalgia!  They remind me of afternoon tea in Great Aunt Ivy's front-room, with the ducks above the mantelpiece.

Mark graduated in ceramics in 1990 from Loughborough
College of Art and Design, and has been working as a full time potter ever since.  All his work is earthenware, fired to 1125ºC and soaked at that temperature for an hour
so that the colours are rich, and so that the
object has a clear ring when tapped.

The birds have an inbuilt hanger and require only a nail in the wall, and they will hang at the correct angle.
