Nicole Stevenson

Nicole Stevenson studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1983-87, graduating with a BA(Hons) in Drawing and Painting. She attended the Bolton Institute from 1994-95 and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education - Art & Design.

From 1987-95, Nicole was involved in a variety of positions including Set Design, conducting art classes for people with learning difficulties and she also ran The Smithy Gallery where she initiated the "Glenelg Marketing Programme". Over the past couple of years she has painted full-time and has exhibited in various Scottish galleries including the R.S.W. Annual Exhibition in 1997. She has also undertaken many private commissions.

Nicole loves the west coast of Scotland and has spent a lot of time in the Wester Ross area and it is here where she finds inspiration for many of her paintings.

“Having moved to Lenzie with small children, the garden and flowers are accessible subject matter and of course every holiday is an excuse to explore and paint Scotland, most recently it was Harris and Lewis; it was idyllic to sit on the beach painting while the boys searched for crabs in the water. All of our travels have confirmed that this country is one of the most beautiful and our future holidays will be planned with painting potential in mind.”
