Suzanne Gyseman

A large variety of greetings cards by this artist is also available at the gallery, along with beautiful sketchbooks featuring Suzanne's work on the cover.

Suzanne's latest paintings are a series of joyful bird studies in acrylic inks - these small works are delicate and charming.

Also on this page you can also see several of Suzanne's paintings which are not currently in the gallery, but are available, so please enquire.

Although she has always loved to draw and paint, Suzanne originally trained as a botanist intending to work for nature conservation, and her scientific background is reflected in the detail of the flowers, birds and insects in her distinctive paintings. She started exhibiting her work in 1988, and became a professional artist in 1997. Her paintings are included in private collections worldwide and her work is appearing increasingly in publication. She has also had some short fiction published.

She finds inspiration in the life forms of the natural world, the faerie and angelic realms, myth, folklore, fairy tales and dreams. She approaches her work with a vision of the inter-relatedness of life, extending this beyond the physical dimension.

" The health of our natural environment affects us all...we must not forget the importance of our link with nature."
