Highlands Open Studios
HIGHLANDS OPEN STUDIOS 2008 runs from 31st May until 8th June this year.Over 100 artists and galleries across the Highlands will be opening their doors and putting on special events. A catalogue with full details is available from galleries, studios and tourism outlets, or through the website:

Tore Art Gallery is pleased to be participating and we are host to six participating artists who will be working in the gallery at various times during the Highlands Open Studios week. We celebrate Highlands Open Studios with a special exhibition opening on Sunday 1st June , when you can meet the artists. (Refreshments 12.00 to 5.00 p.m.).
Our artists are:
MARGARET COWIE
Still Life and Landscape in watercolour and oil. Margaret has a studio in Nairn where she has produced a body of work for HOS in her expressive colourist style.
MARGARET McKAY
Margaret McKay's oil paintings are well known in this area and for HOS 2008 she has concentrated on her favourite subject matter and has made an impressiveseries oftownscapes featuring Inverness and Invernessians captured on the canvas as they go about their daily business.
MIRIAM SMITH
Lovelyloose watercolours inspired by the Highlands local to Inverness and beyond

DOT WALKER
Dot is becoming well known throughout the country for her atmospheric and evocative oil paintings - especially for HOS 08 she has prepared a series of still life. The paintings have an air of simple and peaceful beauty
CLARE BLOIS
Clare is behind schedule as usual! She is keeping her HOS 08 plans a secret for the moment, but work is very much in progress!
