Jennifer MACKENZIE

Jennifer is orginally from Coatbridge in Lanarkshire, and now lives and works in Golspie, Sutherland. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1971, after which she pursued a career in teaching art and design in schools in Lanarkshire, Inverness and Sutherland. A few years ago she gaveup teaching to paint professionally full time.

Jennifer is a regular exhibitor at many of the best Scottish galleries.

"My paintings are very much a personal response to my environment, in terms of colour, light and space, and in the Scottish tradition. Ienjoy exploring colour and the tactile qualitiesof oil paint. I do this mainly through still life, although landscape also features in my work andI am becoming increasingly interested in portraiture."
