Lesley McLAREN

Lesley was born in Glasgow in 1959 and attended ExeterCollege of Art where sheobtained a BA (hons) in painting. After living in the south for many years she returned to the Scottish Borders, and since then has never tired of sketching the gloriouscountryside there.

Returning to the studio, she translates memories and drawings into finished works on canvas, often allowing the more dramatic elements of the scene to develop through the language of paint. The finished work seems to reach the end of a journey.

Lesley describes every painting as “the creation of an exciting new world - one which journeys on from reality”. She has exhibited throughout Scotland for many years and her work has enjoyed success both at home and abroad.
