Miriam SMITH

Miriam lives outside Inverness and has had a strong interest in painting and drawing from an early age, devoting more and more time to her art.
Her preferred media are soft pastel and watercolour. She enjoys the wonderful immediacy and freedom of pastel that works so well with a variety of subjects. The challenge of watercolour is a constant fascination and the intensity of colour and light that this medium can achieve is perfectly suited to the beautiful landscape, powerful seas and weather of the Highlands.
Miriam often combines both media, resulting in interesting textures and effects.
