Simon RIVETT
I am a landscape painter who lives and works in the Outer Hebrides.
I have a studio in the village of Shawbost on the west-side of the Isle of Lewis. Here I work on paintings using watercolour and oil based on drawings made in the rich and varied landscape of the Western Isles. I am particularly drawn to the wide open expanses of moor and the rugged, ancient coastlines that have been battered for thousands of years by frequent Atlantic storms. Recent paintings have concentrated on the hills of Harris and Uig and special moments created when the light reveals their grand structures.
